I say "freezes" because it's not a typical freeze. Excel will randomly lock up, but some controls are still live. Mousing over cells changes the cursor, and trying to close out of Excel still prompts you to save.
It seems it's more of a graphical freeze up, but the application is still live. It may freeze up again, but I'll only know until it does it.
I can't confirm if any other Office products are affected, as I haven't used any other ones today. I experienced a very similar issue but with Chrome, where it would appear to freeze. You could still navigate to websites just you couldn't see anything other than your cursor change to a hand when you hovered over a link.
